2 Week Detox Program

1. First 3 days of Fasting

  • Drink 4-5 packs of Vegetable juice (every 2-3 hours)
  • Drink 2 Packs of herb tea in the  morning and evening
  • Only Drink Water

 

 2. 4 Days of Recovery Period

  • 2 packs of vegetable juice and 1 or 2 packs of herb tea
  • Light Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner
  • Consume nothing but raw or steamed Vegetables, Fruits, and Water
  • By Eating them raw,  all of the nutrients are retained, aiding the detox process.
  • Eat fruits and vegetable like avocado, broccoli, carrots, cauliflower, cabbage, bananas, apples. These foods contain fiber, which also helps the body maintain its natural balance of getting rid of toxins and waste. Consume fresh squeezed fruit and vegetable juice instead of coffee, tea and soda.

 

3. 7 days of Maintenance

  • 1 pack of herb tea  
  • Balanced Diet 

 

Suggestions

  • To enhance the benefits from the two weeks detox program, take a 30-40 minutes slow to moderate paced walk to relax, clear the mind and keep a positive outlook on the detox. 
  • Try to meditate (or practice Reiki) at least 10-15 minutes a day, combine with deep breathing. 
  • Drink enough water daily, do not let your body dehydrated. 
  • Try to sweat out all the toxins, brush your teeth and take a shower whenever you sweat, keep your body dry and clean.

 

Side Effects

When we stop consuming something we are used to, withdrawal symptoms are often present. Detoxing the body of junk food, sugar or processed foods is hard since the body has become used to consuming it each day.

Some side effects that may occur on the detox diet include irritability, slight headache, diarrhea or flu-like symptoms. To avoid as many of these side effects as possible, start weaning yourself off of foods a few days before the detox so it is not as much of a shock to the system. Take a walk outside, or do an activity that can keep your mind off of food in order to finish the detox.

Daily Diet & Activity

1. First thing in the morning, drink a cup of Yin and Yang Tang. This gets necessary digestive enzymes flowing throughout your body. >> more information  

2. Instead of eating regular meals, consume only the tea or vegetable juice as instructed (for the 1st 3 days)

3. Exercise and stretch at least 30-40 minutes a day. Factor in some forms of excise during the day to help increase the detox process. Go for a walk or a bike ride, practice yoga,  or take a mid afternoon jog. Any form of aerobic exercise can help you not only physically but also mentally.

4. The single most important aspect to any detox program is keeping a steady flow of fluids. Drink a glass of water every couple of hours to maintain proper hydration.

5. Make sure you are not snacking between meals and before sleep as this is unhealthy, and throws off the digestive system’s natural rhythm. Drink a cup of chamomile tea before 8 o’clock, to bring about proper relaxation during the detox.

6. Get a regular Acupuncture treatment. Communicate with your acupuncturist about how you feel and how you are doing, you will receive good advice with treatment.

In addition to the important steps listed above, the best thing you can do is keep a positive outlook on the detox program. The mind is a very powerful tool, and even through you making diet adjustments for a few days, keep your mind on the end goal of becoming much healthier.

Your family and friends will be extremely proud of you for finishing the two week detox program. Maintaining proper diet and exercise is not only important during detox procedures, but it is vital in living a happy and healthy life both mentally and physically.
